Addy's Harbor Dodge RAM FIAT Hosts American Red Cross Blood Drive

During this time of crisis, local dealership, Addy's Harbor Dodge RAM FIAT has found a way to help by hosting a blood drive with the American Red Cross at the dealership on May 5th from 11am-4pm.

The blood drive was a big success, in spite of the social distancing restrictions, with 27 donors and coverage from local media stations, WPDE and WGTR. Red Cross Executive Director, Amy Brauner, said that the blood donated will go on to help three times the people that attended. "Each unit of blood can save up to three lives which has an impact on more than 75 people," Brauner said.

Addy's matched each pint of blood given with a $25 donation to the organization, which totaled $675. Those who donated also received 25% off parts & service work done on their vehicle or $200 off their vehicle purchase through June 30th.

The next step in the blood donation journey is for the blood to be tested in the American Red Cross's lab and then distributed to area hospitals most in need of blood. Donors can follow where their blood gets sent through the American Red Cross Blood Donor app.

Local car dealer helps Horry County Meals on Wheels

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) Addy's Harbor Dodge, Ram and Fiat will join forces with Horry County Meals on Wheels to help provide meals for those in need.

Staring Thursday, March 19, Addy's will donate $5.00 per oil change to Horry County Meals on Wheels.

Addy's will also pick up and drop off your vehicle to keep you from traveling and to avoid crowds. According to a news release, "Our pick up team will cover the seats, steering wheel and will be wearing gloves at all times. Their vehicle will be returned and will be wiped down. Now is the time for us to come through for those that are in need."

Addy's Harbor Dodge RAM FIAT Donates School Supplies to Help 4 Kids/Backpack Buddies

Local dealership, Addy's Harbor Dodge RAM FIAT has kicked off the back to school season with a donation of 120 backpacks filled with supplies for the underprivileged children of Horry County. The donations were picked up at the dealership by the organization, Help 4 Kids/Backpack Buddies, on Tuesday, September 24th at 2pm.

For the month of August, Addy's contributed a backpack for each vehicle sold and was able to fill up the bed of a truck in their showroom. The dealership also involved the customers in the process, taking a picture of them in front of their new vehicle holding the backpack that would go towards the donation. In all, Addy's Harbor Dodge RAM FIAT has contributed 120 backpacks, filled with essentials for school, including a pencil case, writing utensils, erasers, a pocket folder, a spiral notebook, a pencil sharpener, a ruler and a glue stick.

Help 4 Kids/Backpack Buddies has been in operation for 30 years, collecting all kinds of essentials for children in need. The organization relies 100% on volunteers and donations. Help 4 Kids' Events Coordinator Bridget Brancato said that these supply donations help the organization to stretch their resources further. "Our organization feeds 3,000 children in Horry County, along with supplying various children with any other items they might need, like clothing and school supplies," Brancato said. "The donation of the school supplies really frees up our budget in order to buy other essentials for the kids."

Mike Addy, owner of Addy's Harbor Dodge RAM FIAT said that they were interested in teaming up with such a well-known organization and thought this would have a big impact in the community.
